I’m Kyla Newcombe, a nutritionist and skin specialist. Since having kids, my skin hasn’t been perfectly clear, but I’ve learned how to balance my hormones (not with croissants)! My goal is to help you feel confident in your own skin too.
I take a holistic, science-based approach to skin health. It’s not just about diet; skincare and a lifestyle that supports your skin matter too. KNOWLEDGE
We will focus on a different nutrition or lifestyle topic each week to help clear acne. I will teach you the WHY, so you will want to make changes. I will guide you through with weekly emails and short videos under 15 minutes.
MOTIVATION
Each week you’ll be set small challenges focussing on the weekly topic. You can share meal photos with the group for feedback and to inspire each other. By the end of the 12 weeks, you’ll have 12 healthy habits in your daily routine.
SUPPORT
At the start of the programme, we will meet on a one-to-one video call to discuss anything personal to you. This could include your skincare regime and supplements. I can also answer any burning questions you have.
COMMUNITY

My journey with skin health and nutrition began while hopelessly trying to help my younger sister suffering with eczema at a young age. I say hopelessly as I was only 13 at the time, back in the 90’s when it wasn’t as straightforward as googling the answers! From looking for mushrooms in museums which claimed to have the cure, to reading articles in newspapers about the benefits of different oils, I would read up on what I could.

I’m a very busy person, how will I have time to follow this plan? ▼
I totally get this, I’m a busy working mum with 2 young kids so I have many tricks up my sleeve for keeping things quick and simple. Don’t worry, I won’t be asking you to grind up spices with a pestle and mortar after work!
It’s not a good time for me, I’m away on holiday next month. When should I start? ▼
To be honest, there will never be a perfect time to start, but you need to feel you can commit some time to get results. Life will not go on hold for you to follow a 12 week plan exactly how you want to. This programme does not have a strict structure for every day, but includes weekly challenges which can be done at anytime.
I have a very restrictive diet, so how will I be able to follow the programme? ▼
Most people following this plan are already on very specific diets, have allergies or have other special dietary requirements, so this programme has been developed to work around this. There are no specific foods you will need to start eating, but instead you will be given lists of a type of foods, e.g. increase soluble fibre (with a list of high fibre foods to choose from).
I’ve cut many foods out before and nothing seems to help. Why is this programme different? ▼
This is possibly the most common question I get asked, and people always seem to think it is a certain food to blame for their skin issues. Food intolerances can sometimes cause issues, but for most individuals, nutrition deficiencies are more likely to blame. I therefore like to focus on nutrients to add to keep your skin barrier healthy and immune system balanced.
How will I follow a plan when I have to cook for my family? Will everything need to be separate? ▼
Many of the challenges I set each week can be followed by everyone in your family. You could get them involved if they are interested! Sometimes though, you could simply add extra ingredients to your meal, that your family are already having e.g. ground flaxseeds on yoghurt.
My skin issues are very severe, how do you know diet will help me? ▼
I don’t, and honestly it’s hard to predict; I have seen some of the most severe cystic acne resolve after just a few weeks on a healthy eating regime. On the other hand, other women may have only mild acne which cannot be completely cleared with diet alone, and may need work on lifestyle factors such as sleep or stress reduction. That’s why I take a holistic approach and try to encompass a variety of lifestyle factors to give your skin the best chance of recovery.
How many of your clients get completely clear skin? ▼
Almost all of my clients will see some kind of improvement in their skin, but the results vary significantly from person to person. It is very possible for acne to completely clear, but it can help if you set expectations for transformation rather than perfection.
How long will it take for me to see improvements in my skin? ▼
Most women start seeing results 4 weeks into the programme, although for cystic acne, improvements may be towards the end of the 12 weeks (and improvements in skin can continue for months after).
What if my skin doesn’t get better? ▼
I know how frustrating it can be to try everything for your skin when nothing seems to work, so I offer a money back guarantee. If you decide after the 12 weeks that you are not happy with your results, I will happily refund all of your money. I want this to be risk free for you 🙂
